Just arrived today direct from ICM are these two;
These are going to be full build reviews for The Modelling News so I won’t be showing too much about them but what I can say is that they both look VERY good in the box. I’m looking forward to building them but especially so regarding the OV-10A Bronco as the only 1/48 kit prior to this one was the VERY old Testors kit. That needed a lot of work plus update sets that are very difficult to find nowadays as they have been out of production for years.
The plan with the build reviews is to go straight into them without reviewing the parts prior so here’s a couple if shots showing what you get for your money;
Regarding the decals, ICM ones do put up a fight when applying them but I’m going to try a couple of ideas to help with the process, otherwise I’ll be bugging ICM for replacement decals.
The BM-13-16 is based on the Chevrolet G7 107 truck that ICM released a couple of months ago. The USA supplied the USSR with the trucks during WW2 under a ‘lend-lease’ agreement between the two countries, this particular version being modified by the Russians to be a rocket artillery vehicle or ‘Katyusha’ as they were known.
Again the kit looks great but already I can see care is going to be needed putting the chassis together as it is a multipart assembly. Anyway here are some sprue shots;
I guess I’m going to be a busy boy getting these two done so for now the Osprey and Leopard 2A6 will have to take a back seat (not that I’m complaining).
I have to say that I feel privileged that ICM send stuff to me for review so a big thank you to them for trusting me to build their kits and also to Adam at The Modelling News for arranging it.
