Miniart 1/35 Typ 170V Lieferwagen

This is another model that I’ve been messing with for the past couple of weeks and after gloss coating it a couple of days ago the decals went on tonight. Not as straight forward a process as I thought either as putting the first decal on the passenger door, as soon as it touched theContinue reading “Miniart 1/35 Typ 170V Lieferwagen”

Hobbyboss 1/72 LTV A-7K Corsair

I’ve had a 1/72 ‘Twosair’ A-7 in the collection for over 20 years or more but recently I took it out of the cupboard to have a look and managed to break a few parts off such as the nose wheel, canopy and outer wing pylon; Easily repairable I know but on closer inspection IContinue reading “Hobbyboss 1/72 LTV A-7K Corsair”

ICM 1/48 Dornier Do217J-1/2

Following on to the previous post the build is complete; The model will now be taken apart again, cleaned up and masked off ready for painting. Not a bad kit really and I enjoyed building it, obviously there were some areas that needed attention and some of the details need refining but generally it’s aContinue reading “ICM 1/48 Dornier Do217J-1/2”

Gaspatch Models 1/48 FuG202 radar aerials

I’ve just finished building the ICM 1/48 Dornier Do217J-1/2 and although the kit is pretty good, some of the detail is a bit chunky especially the FuG202 Lichtenstein radar aerials on the nose. This is due to the limitations of injection moulding so looking around for alternative aerials I found these 3D printed ones byContinue reading “Gaspatch Models 1/48 FuG202 radar aerials”

The first part of my build review is now available on The Modelling News https://www.themodellingnews.com/2020/07/construction-review-icms-new-48th-scale.html?m=1 If you are planning to build this kit it is worth a look, especially when part 2 is done as that covers the build in more detail. Part 3 will be about painting the model…that’s if I don’t mess itContinue reading “ICM 1/48 Dornier 217J-1/2”

ICM 1/48 Dornier 217J-1/2

The model is getting near to the end of the build stage and I should be getting some paint on it next week. It’s been a pretty good fit mostly, just some areas that needed coercing into shape but I will detail all that in part 2 of my build review for The Modelling News.Continue reading “ICM 1/48 Dornier 217J-1/2”

ICM 1/48 Dornier Do217J-1/2

The cockpit has been painted and the fuselage, nose and wings have been all glued together. Fit of parts has been pretty good although the worst bits are where the top wing joins the fuselage just behind the cockpit and halfway down the fuselage. I had to put some plastic strip underneath the upper fuselageContinue reading “ICM 1/48 Dornier Do217J-1/2”
