Masking a Starfighter

I’ve decided that the Dornier 28 will need repainting due to the Hataka acrylic not looking too good so I’ll try and match some Mr Hobby or Tamiya to RAL 7035. With that to one side I started masking the Hasegawa Starfighter; This will be sprayed with Tamiya later today and to celebrate another tripContinue reading “Masking a Starfighter”

Revell 1/72 Tornado GR.1

While waiting for the paint on the Dornier to cure and not really feeling like masking the Starfighter, tonight’s entertainment is brought to you via one of the two Revell Tornado’s that are ongoing. To recap on these two, both models were shelved earlier last year due to fit issues particularly with the front/rear fuselageContinue reading “Revell 1/72 Tornado GR.1”

The 2nd part of my build review has now been published on The Modelling News and covers the painting and weathering; I do like ICM kits as they have been putting out some quality stuff recently and although they are not perfect they are getting pretty close. Many thanks to Adam at The ModellingContinue reading “ICM 1/35 Model T Ambulance 1917 (early)”

Revell 1/72 Dornier Do28D-2

I’ve undercoated the model with a Humbrol rattle can grey as I needed to see if there were any flaws after all the filling and sanding, fortunately (and to my big surprise) there are only a couple of areas that need attending to. One area is the thin sheet of plastic I put on theContinue reading “Revell 1/72 Dornier Do28D-2”

Revell 1/72 Dornier Do28D-2

After making resin casts of the flap actuator mechanisms, these were sanded down, cleaned up and glued to the underside of the wings. I temporarily fixed the fuel tanks in place and apart from adding a couple of aerials to the fuselage, the model is now ready to be cleaned down and undercoated. It’s notContinue reading “Revell 1/72 Dornier Do28D-2”
