Arma Hobby 1/72 Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate

The cockpit is done and the fuselage is closed up;

The kit decals were used and after the cockpit was sprayed with matt varnish a drop of Tamiya X-22 Clear was put onto each of the instruments to represent the glass.

The fit of the fuselage was very good as was the fit of the wings as after this image was taken I decided to glue all the wings on as any cleaning up of joints can be done in one session. One thing to watch is removing the lower wing from the sprue as it is very easy to break the wing around the undercarriage bays as witnessed by the white stress marks in the image;

Take care with construction as some parts are specific to the different colour schemes that Arma Hobby provide so read the instructions before assembly. With the wings on, the model is now virtually built with just a few other parts to add so I’m hoping to get some paint on it soon.

Quite an impressive kit so far!

I've been a modelmaker for a verrry long time and still show no signs of growing out of it after 50 plus years. I mainly build tanks, aircraft and paint figures but generally do whatever takes my fancy whether it's historical, Science-fiction, a 'what-if' or because it has pretty colours and looks nice. I'm hoping that you find my blog interesting and useful, particularly if building a model that I have built and documented here.
