Arma Hobby 1/72 FM-2 Wildcat

On a Facebook page I like called The Interesting Modelling Company, they are having ‘Arma April’ that started today so I chose the 1/72 FM-2 Wildcat to build. Now usually it takes me a month to just open a kit box but I made a start on it this afternoon and incredibly I have a painted and gloss varnished cockpit;

I’ll be using a mix of the kit decals and an Eduard pre-painted etch set that arrived this week to furnish the cockpit as in this scale it will be more than enough. I chose the Eduard set as I feel the instrument panel looks much better than the kit decals, plus it had the seat belts and a couple of other useful bits. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish the cockpit and get the fuselage closed up which will be a record achievement for me. Mind you that has more to do with me just building it straight out of the box rather than spending hours on research, something that I’m doing more often these days.

I've been a modelmaker for a verrry long time and still show no signs of growing out of it after 50 plus years. I mainly build tanks, aircraft and paint figures but generally do whatever takes my fancy whether it's historical, Science-fiction, a 'what-if' or because it has pretty colours and looks nice. I'm hoping that you find my blog interesting and useful, particularly if building a model that I have built and documented here.
