Hasegawa 1/72 F-104G

It’s taken a while but all the stencil decals have finally been applied to the model;

Originally I wasn’t going to bother putting the stencils on the underside but AMS (Advanced Modellers Syndrome) said otherwise. All I need to do is give it another layer of gloss varnish to seal the decals in then I can start the weathering process.

Thankfully the task was made easier with the quality of the decals and that they didn’t take long to come off the backing paper as I have had some decals take forever to come unstuck.

It has been pretty tedious applying well over 400 tiny decals but the model will look OK when finished. It seems a shame (but understandable) that there is only stencilling for one airframe in the decal set however I *think* that you can get the stencils on a separate sheet so I will look into this if I ever get around to doing another German F-104.

I've been a modelmaker for a verrry long time and still show no signs of growing out of it after 48 years. I mainly build tanks, aircraft and paint figures but generally do whatever takes my fancy whether it's historical, Science-fiction, a 'what-if' or because it has pretty colours and looks nice. I'm hoping that you find my blog interesting and useful, particularly if building a model that I have built and documented here.
