Tamiya 1/24 Porsche 934 Jagermeister

The model got a final coat of gloss varnish today, unfortunately it has left an ‘orange peel’ texture in places however it will have to do as I want the model off the bench so will carry on with it as is;

With that I finished the tyres by spraying them with gloss varnish (after masking the wheel centres), applied the Goodyear decals with the help of Johnsons Kleer and Micro sol and when dry I sprayed them with matt varnish, the tyre surfaces were then sprayed a dark grey;

The etch supplied for the three front grills is far too big to fit the openings where they go so need cutting down before painting;

The cut down grill is on the left and shows just how much material needs removing

When the gloss varnish has cured fully I will mask off the grey strip on the front so that I can go over it with paint and also mask the window frames and body trim before spraying them semi-gloss black (Tamiya X-18).

I've been a modelmaker for a verrry long time and still show no signs of growing out of it after 48 years. I mainly build tanks, aircraft and paint figures but generally do whatever takes my fancy whether it's historical, Science-fiction, a 'what-if' or because it has pretty colours and looks nice. I'm hoping that you find my blog interesting and useful, particularly if building a model that I have built and documented here.
