Amongst other kits that have turned up recently (because online shopping is far too easy) I received this today from a well known auction site;

I had a quick look at the parts but almost immediately the quality and detail REALLY stood out for me and although this is the ‘Weekend’ edition without all the bells and whistles of the Profipack version, from what I’ve seen so far in the box you don’t really need any extra bits apart from seat belts and instrument dials.
Very impressive at first look and although I thought the Airfix 1/48 P-51D was a good kit, this is far better and I would go as far to say that this could be the best 1/48 P-51D available yet.
The actual proof, of course, to say this is the best P-51 ever is to actually build it which won’t be for a while as I have got loads on the go at the moment.
Also received today is this;

I’ve been looking for another airbrush for stuff that I didn’t fancy putting through my Iwata Revolution CR and as a few people gave the Fengda FE-180 a good review I thought I would try this FE-130K and at £24.99 (UK) from Amazon it was worth a shot. Basically I may be going full circle with my airbrushing and using enamels with cellulose (lacquer) thinners again after many years of using acrylics as I found a cellulose thinner that doesn’t stink the house out. Stay tuned…..
