ICM 1/48 Dornier Do217J-1/2

I sprayed the top colours tonight and peeled off the masking tape and I’m very glad to say that I had no reaction between paint and tape. I used Tamiya masking tape and although it’s an expensive way of doing it, there was no having to spend hours cleaning off the paint and having to start again.

There is a little bit of touching up to do here and there plus the outer vertical fins require a random pattern of RLM75 spraying on them plus two of the radar antenna need painting too.

When those jobs are done the model will be gloss coated ready for the decals and weathering process.

I’m quite pleased with the way it has turned out so far!

I've been a modelmaker for a verrry long time and still show no signs of growing out of it after 48 years. I mainly build tanks, aircraft and paint figures but generally do whatever takes my fancy whether it's historical, Science-fiction, a 'what-if' or because it has pretty colours and looks nice. I'm hoping that you find my blog interesting and useful, particularly if building a model that I have built and documented here.
