Miniart 1/35 Lieferwagen Typ 170V

That’s the build phase finished apart from the beer crates but I’ll do them tomorrow. The only extra detailing I have done is make the catches for the open doors and drill holes into the wheels and added copper wire for the tyre valves. The headlights had wire inserted in them as they will make the joints between them and the front fenders stronger plus it will help during the painting stage as they have a strip of chrome around the front of the headlights. The windows will all be added after painting.

Some areas have been very fiddly to do such as the etch for the bonnet catches and due to the delicate moulding some parts have had to be removed from the sprue with great care as it is very easy to break them. Fortunately the styrene the kit is moulded in is fairly soft so it can be forgiving to a point but you still need to be careful.

Altogether though this has been lovely to build as the fit of parts really is good and the way it has been engineered you can keep the body separate from the chassis and floor which will make painting so much easier.

I've been a modelmaker for a verrry long time and still show no signs of growing out of it after 50 plus years. I mainly build tanks, aircraft and paint figures but generally do whatever takes my fancy whether it's historical, Science-fiction, a 'what-if' or because it has pretty colours and looks nice. I'm hoping that you find my blog interesting and useful, particularly if building a model that I have built and documented here.
