Painting of the Sea Fury undersides is now done and when the paint has cured I’ll move onto the uppersurfaces. After the initial coat of Sky I sprayed around the panel lines, rivets etc with Tamiya Neutral Grey for a pre-shade then went over them with Sky, spraying a lightened Sky in between the panel lines. While I was in the mood I put the second camo colour on the ZBD-05. I decided to make a mix of Tamiya and Mr Hobby as I had a feeling the Mr Color would attack the paint underneath, unfortunately I didn’t mix enough and ran out near the end of the session so will probably have to use Mr Color after all.

I've been a modelmaker for a verrry long time and still show no signs of growing out of it after 48 years. I mainly build tanks, aircraft and paint figures but generally do whatever takes my fancy whether it's historical, Science-fiction, a 'what-if' or because it has pretty colours and looks nice. I'm hoping that you find my blog interesting and useful, particularly if building a model that I have built and documented here. View more posts
